The reason of occurring runtime error 76 is, if the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server Extensions\50 directory is not deleted when the Microsoft share point team services are uninstalled. The reason is exact for the runtime error code 76 path not found.

Process to fix runtime error 76

To fix this issue you have to remove share point team services. To remove it you have to follow these instructions.

• First of all click on start then click on run. Here type inetmgr and then click on ok button or you can also press enter from keyboard.
• After that expand the website that is provisioned SharePoint by you, and after that locate the MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments folder.
• Then right click on the MS_ProjectServer_PublicDocuments folder and after that click on delete to delete this folder.
• Then click on start button and then open control panel. Then open add or remove program here and point Microsoft share point and then click on remove.

After removing the Microsoft share point you have to remove the front page 2000 Server Extension. To remove it follows these steps:-

• Open control panel then click on add or remove programs and then click on add or remove windows component.
• In the components menu choose Internet Information Service and after that click on details. Then uncheck the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions checkbox. And then click on next button.
• Follow the rest process from wizard and then restart the server.
